The COSI Academy is a ten-day intensive enrichment program for students between 17 and 19 years of age who are interested in music and language studies in Italy.

All COSI Academy programs include:

  • Accommodation
  • Breakfast and lunch
  • Expert instruction and experiences in its compelling programs
  • Students will also learn about the history and culture of the vibrant town of Sulmona that will be their home for the duration of the program.

MUSIC PROGRAM for Singers and Pianists
Application Fee: $40.
Tuition and Accommodation: $1990.00 CAD

The Music program for singers and pianists includes: private lessons, repertoire coaching sessions, masterclasses and recitals. Seminars will focus on audition preparation, vocal health, musicianship and artistic collaboration. Italian language, interactive cultural experiences (market trips, a cooking class) and movement classes are also included,  and evenings will be spent taking in concert and opera performances in Sulmona.

COSI Academy music application requirements  (for singers and pianists aged 17-19): All COSI Academy music applicants are to submit uploaded video recordings via the online application.

For Singers: Two uploaded audio or video selections

  • One Italian art song or aria
  • A contrasting art song or aria in any language, OR a selection of classic musical theatre OR a selection from the “American Songbook.”

For Pianists: Two uploaded audio or video selections

  • Two contrasting pieces that represent your current level of playing.

ITALIAN LANGUAGE and CULTURE PROGRAM
Application Fee:
$40
Tuition and Accommodation: $1990.00 CAD

The  Italian Language and Culture program includes intensive Italian language training along with varied opportunities for practical application. Topics will include grammar, spelling, pronunciation, vocabulary and common Italian phrases. Interactive cultural experiences (market trips, a cooking class) and movement classes are also included, and evenings will be spent taking in concert and opera performances in Sulmona.

COSI ACADEMY Online Application Requirements:

  • STEP ONE: Please by email the downloaded and completed application form, or send an email with the same requested information, along with your digital photo, and your Youtube link to two contrasting selections* to: cosi.program.manager@co-si.com
  • STEP TWO: Send your application payment of $40 CAD by bank draft or check/cheque to:
    Centre for Opera Studies in Italy.
